Hospital Stories

Do you remember the last time you were in the hospital? How was the food? At Kolding Hospital things are different. The patients enjoy the food and the kitchen staff cares a lot. But neither of the two parties share this information with each other.

In collaboration with Kolding Hospital this project aimed at finding a way which allows patients and the kitchen to communicate more with each other and share their thoughts and feedback.

The project was done completely online. All communication happened through video calls and emails. To overcome the challenge of not being able to visit the hospital myself I developed a series of dialogue tools which I asked the kitchen staff to use and fill in for me. The tools were designed in a way that allowed the participants to use them on their side of the screen with me facilitating on my end.

The tools included for example a template, which asked the participants to map about how communication int he hospital works. Other tools included ideation cards for brainstorms, roleplaying cards and paper prototypes of designs.

To facilitate the workshops I used the same tools on my side to explain them and make them accessible to my participants.
